Hi Everyone!

Today - November 10, 2015 - is the first birthday of my right boob!

On this day last year, I had a bilateral mastectomy with construction on my right side at City of Hope. I asked my right boob how it wanted to celebrate this fabulous occasion, and it told me that it wanted to give back to the amazing place of its birth. No party - no gifts - just a little fundraiser for City of Hope.

Even if you can't donate, you can help us spread the word about City of Hope by sharing this page.

A little about me: I'm Kaye McDonald - I am 30 years old and I have been living with metastatic breast cancer for two years.

Being diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer at the age of 28 is difficult, but I still feel that I am one of the lucky ones. I have an amazing husband and friends; the best coworkers and boss; and access to great healthcare and resources. My good fortune has allowed me to live in Orange County, but still travel to City of Hope (92.4 miles round trip) for treatment and surgery. I've been able to build my own little "team" between the OC and City of Hope to help me get the best treatment possible while still working full-time.

There are so many people not as fortunate as I have been. City of Hope is a place where they get treatment, support, and the help they need to thrive. Because I have metastatic breast cancer - I will always be in treatment. Having City of Hope on my side makes me feel more confident about the treatment I will receive. Between my awesome doctors (Dr. Kruper, Dr. Mortimer, and Dr. Tan), research, and advances in care - I can be more hopeful!

Even if all you did was read this message that I wrote - I thank you for your time. If you'd like to learn more about me and keep updated on what I'm up to, you can follow my blog: Live from Stage IV, where "Stage Ain't Nothin' but a Number".
